odccsponsor1Smooga are now the shirt sponsor of Oxford Downs Cricket Club, extending a period of support which has included providing play and sports equipment for the clubs’ younger members. The sponsorship now extends to shirt sponsorship for the senior players three teams involved in the Cherwell League, and the training and T20 kit. Club Chairman Tom Welch says; “We have been close to Smooga for some time and this sponsorship from Smooga is a perfect match for the club. We are always looking to promote our inclusiveness and to develop our professional image, clearly mirroring Smooga’s intent to get more kids active in sport and play”.

Smooga has awarded design students from Abingdon & Witney College with a commission to create the company’s new product aimed at teenagers and youth clubs across the UK.

Design students were given the task to create a ‘Smooga Street’ version of the smart movable games area, which is already popular in many primary schools to make PE, play and sport more accessible whilst helping to avoid conflict in the playground.

Two art and design students from Abingdon & Witney College in Oxfordshire have beaten off stiff competition from their peers to create a new Smooga Street brand, designed to make the moveable outdoor arena more accessible and appealing to secondary school students and youth clubs.

Chloe Butler (16) and Claudia Marulanda (18) were also provided with work experience by Smooga, which saw the winning students manage their designs from concept through to reality culminating in a tour of a printers to see their work hot off the press and ready for launch at this year’s Education Show.

Smooga today launches its ‘reading corners’ at The Nursery World Show (Stand 158) to complement its award winning playground arena specifically aimed at early years to create a fun and safe environment for children to play.

The four colourful reading corner designs have been produced to replicate a post office, garage, construction site and café, adding more dimensions to play or simply providing a quiet a corner to read.

To coincide with the nation’s rugby fever, Smooga is pleased to announce our sponsorship of England Rugby Wheelchair 7′s.

The England Wheelchair Rugby 7′s team play rugby union with contact, scrums and line-outs in the same way as all the teams in this year’s Rugby World Cup. However, Wheelchair 7′s is played by people in chairs and is an all inclusive sport open to men, women, boys and girls, disabled and able-bodied alike.
