Smooga opens Bedfordshire office

Sean Usher of SmoogaAn award winning company that specialises in encouraging more children to participate in PE and outdoor activities through making better use of playground space, has set-up an office in Harrold Bedford, dedicated to supporting schools in the Eastern region. Headquartered in Oxfordshire, Smooga is experienced in helping schools optimise their outdoor space and manage spacial conflict in the playground and playing fields through its smart portable multi-use games arena.

The company also announces the appointment of Sean Usher, Sales Manager – Eastern region for Smooga who joins the team after reconnecting with its founder. Sean established his own business in 2014 providing schools with landscape products made from recycled material, so Smooga is a complement to that. He said:

“I’m excited to be part of a company that is proactively helping more children to get outside and enjoy sports activities, something I am very passionate about. A smooga offers so many benefits to schools with small or large playgrounds from containing ball games and preventing accidents through to ensuring outdoor lessons are more focussed. My role will focus on working with schools in the Eastern region and attending localised events.”

Keith Place, Co-founder and Director of Smooga, said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Sean to our small and specialist team and look forward to offering schools in the Eastern region with dedicated support to ensure they make the most of their existing playground space.”

Malcolm Arnold Prep School in Northampton is one school in the region that already has a smooga. Erica Carter, School Business Manager at the school, commented:

“We are getting lots of use out of the smooga, we use it for football, skipping sessions, and other team games. The children love it and watch from the outside and wait patiently for their turn. This really helps at break times and lunchtimes as there are more structured activities happening for the children in a controlled environment.”

Smooga’s Eastern region office will be supporting schools across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Huntingdonshire.

The Smooga team will be attending the Bedfordshire PE Conference, 21 March 2018 in addition to the Northamptonshire PE Conference, 30 April 2018 and has already attended the Eastern Academies Show.
